Expert Profile:

Dr. Jin Zhangdong, born in 1971, is a researcher at the Institute of Earth Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a recipient of the National Distinguished Youth Science Fund (2012), a selected leading talent in WR technology innovation by the National Ministry of Water Resources (2016), and the leader of an innovative research group funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (2022). Currently, he serves as the Vice Director of the Institute of Earth Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Loess and Quaternary Geology, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Society for Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry, Director of the Chinese Quaternary Science Association, and Associate Editor of "Geochemistry." Engaged in long-term research on watershed chemical weathering, Dr. Jin has achieved a series of innovative results in the interactions between watershed weathering-erosion, carbon balance, climate, and tectonics. He has led more than 20 national-level projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China Innovative Research Group Project, Key Program, and Major Program, as well as the 973 Program. Dr. Jin has published over 200 SCI-indexed papers in journals such as Science, Nature Geoscience, Science Advances, and Geology, with more than 8,000 citations. He has received awards such as the Outstanding Communist Party Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Special Allowance from the State Council, China's Top 10 Scientific Advances, Top 10 Geological and Technological Advances, the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award, and the China Academy of Sciences International Young Scientist Cooperation Award.
