Dr. Zhang Shanjia's Academic Report

Dr. Zhang Shanjia, postdoctoral fellow of the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University, delivered an academic report on the study of the interaction between humans and the environment in the middle and late Holocene in the eastern section of the Silk Road on January 16, 2024. Reportor Profile:

Dr. Zhang Shanjia is a postdoctoral fellow at the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University. His research focus is environmental archaeology, mainly studying changes in human living environment and the impact of human activities in Central Asia and East China along the Silk Road during the middle and late Holocene. He received his Ph.D. in Natural Geography from the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University in June 2022 and has been working as a postdoc at the same school since July 2022. Currently, he is leading one project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one project supported by the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, one project supported by the Postdoctoral Innovation Fund of Central Colleges and one project supported by Gansu Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics Archaeology. He has published a total of 25 academic papers, including 8 as first/corresponding author in journals such as Catena, Science Bulletin, PNAS NEXUS, etc. His research achievements have been reported by AAAS and the China Science Bulletin, and were selected as research highlights by Nature website.
